to Order
Aashish Sharma, President, called to
order the meeting at 12:05PM in the ISET conference room.

Pre-Engineering Conference:
-
There was a very good
response to the telecom club stall at the pre-engineering
conference.
-
No raffle tickets
were purchased at the conference, hence the raffle was cancelled.
The gift checks either to be returned to Dr. Lefebvre, or kept in
the club with Dr. Lefebvre being reimbursed. Club to decide.
Trip to Nortel
-
Dr. Newman is not
getting any response from Nortel. Hence, the Canada trip is
uncertain. The president, Aashish Sharma to keep the club updated.
Vice President’s Report: Aaron
Kenney
Adoption of a local highway:
-
It has been suggested
in previous meetings that the telecom club adopt a local highway to
publicize the club

Vice-President, Aaron
Kenney, spoke with Oneida County DOT rep’s secretary a few times,
but was unable to get hold of the person in charge.
Fund Raising at the Sangertown
Mall:
-
The information
packet has been obtained. The club must decide on a date and the
information packet can then be completed and returned to the mall
marketing representative.
Treasurer’s Report: Eric Sinclair

The total funds in
the Telecommunications club is $1,020.85
-
Dan Peckza, the
winner of the Telecom Club 50-50 raffle has collected his check.
Telecom Buzz Report: Herbert
Hernandez

The editor is gearing
up for the third issue of the Telecom Buzz. The expected date is
April 15th, 2005.

Call for articles to
publish in the Buzz
-
A section to be
included about the ongoing research of current students.
Webmasters Report: Herbert
Hernandez

The Website is
currently down. Work is going on to set the telecom club site set up
again.

In the mean time, a
temporary page will be set up.
Constitution
Committee:
-
There was no meeting
held for this week. A report will be given to the club at the next
meeting
Advisor’s Address: Dr. Kevin
Lefebvre
-
The
telecommunications conference, which was scheduled on the 26th
of April, 2005, has been cancelled due to lack of participation.
Open Forum:
-
The club is in need
of a new banner. The price will be checked out.
-
The Club can work
with the Computer Science club of SUNYIT about a seminar on
Computers and Networking.
-
Presentations about
the various fields of Telecommunications can be given as part of the
club activity to attract students towards the field of
Telecommunications.
-
Club to submit a
proposal to all Faculty of the Telecommunications Department so they
can choose the students who would give these presentations.
