	The student chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers is an organization that works in association with the Civil Engineering Technology curriculum at SUNYIT. The club was formed to provide the students with an opportunity to interact with others in the curriculum. The club also enhances the education of its members by organizing activities relating to the Civil Engineering field. One such activity is the participation in an national steel bridge building competition. This gives the students an opportunity to learn design and construction planning experience, and the excitement of completing against other Civil Engineering students from other universities.
